Striped Bass Report - Monday
Striped bass fishing was pretty good today although not like yesterday.
Fishing started out good early then slowed down. We saw plenty of bass everywhere we went. After the initial shot early in
the day, some drifts we would catch a few, other times none. We wound up with a decent catch for the small group onboard today.
Some limits, and a few bonus fish.
The pool winner
was:
Richard Mallory from Balt. MD with a 32LB striped
bass.
Green tail jigs caught the most today. Reeling
15 to 20 cranks off the bottom at a moderate speed and dropping back was the best method. Most fish were hooked as the jig
was dropped back to the bottom.
There is a tremendous
body of striped bass within easy reach of Manasquan Inlet and the water temperature is ideal for the continued migration of
striped bass in our area. Fishing should be good through the month. The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail for Striped Bass
every day at 7:30AM.
Our first night
bluefish trip will sail 7:30PM Saturday May 15.

Sunday Super Striper–Slam
The high NW winds did
not stop the stripers from biting today, in fact they bit even better than yesterday! Fishing was excellent with most passengers
catching their limit, bonus fish, and releasing many more.
The pool winner was:
Manny Rosado from Phila, PA with a 40LB Striped Bass. Manny also caught his limit,
a bonus fish and released 10 more bass.
The high hook was:
Don DeStefano from Harkers Island, NC who caught his limit, a bonus fish and released 11 more bass.

Good Striped Bass Fishing Saturday
After a tough day Friday Striped Bass fishing was good again Saturday. Many anglers caught their
limit and released more. The fishing was good in the morning, slowed down for awhile and then turned on again. Some drifts
almost half of the boat was hooked up at once. Most of the bass were keepers up to 30LBS. There were also a few blues mixed
in.
The pool
winner was:
Marje
Hughes from Drexel Hill, PA with a 30LB striped bass, keeping his limit and releasing 5 more.
Jigging was the way to go and many different
jigs worked well. Of the A-47 jigs green caught the most again today. When the fish were feeding the most, a slower retrieve
was the best method.
The
big Jamaica will sail for Striped bass everyday at 7:30AM Sunday.

Wednesday was also a good day with the largest striper
weighing 40LBS!
